Long before he made his name as an actor, Peter Capaldi sang and played guitar played in bands in and around Glasgow, most notably The Dreamboys, a punk band of sorts who released one 7″ single back in 1980 called Bela Lugosi’s Birthday.
He made a return to his first love in 2021, releasing his debut album St Christopher, which was produced by Dr. Robert of Blow Monkeys fame. It was quite a low-key release, almost as if he was testing the waters.
In 2025, he recorded and released the follow-up, Sweet Illusions, again working with Dr. Robert but this time opting to have it released on Last Night From Glasgow and to promote it with what proved-to-be two sold out gigs in his home city. He enjoyed himself so much that he’s continued to perform live, and later this year, in December, will undertake a short UK tour with gigs in Sheffield, London, Bristol and Glasgow.
