I can’t help it if she only ever released one solo single before calling time on her recording career and concentrating on the acting career. I know I’ve posted this song quite a few times over the years, always apologising for how dreadful it is, but it’s in the collection and so is worthy of featuring in this series. I love Clare, but this single was a severe test of my devotion. Why did she go with ‘Love Bomb’ instead of the far superior ‘Reason is the Slave’? Things could’ve been so different. This performance clip is, unbelievably, new to my eyes and quite awful. Let us never speak of it again.
She was on with John Shuttleworth on Radio 4 the other week, quite funny but her voice hasn’t held up that well
