That was of course originally posted a few years before the Nile Rodgers revival….back then it would have been a post largely ignored. I’m fully expecting a DMCA notice now and the track to be removed.

Chics music is magnificent but also political. In the 80s America was in a slump and the idea that everybody dance was wonderfully ironic, but nothing compared to “Dance Dance Dance” with the line “Yowsa Yowsa Yowsa” which was a quote from the film “They shoot horses don’t they” about dance marathons from the great depression of the 30s. Also check out “At last I am free”.
This track is not a skeleton but a badge of honour and still relevant today
